As of today, there are no documented and verifiable cases of anyone who have been hurt or who have died in a hypnotherapy session.
All the injuries reportedly caused by those in hypnotic trance happened between 1950s and 1960s at stage shows where safety preparations and precautions are inadequate. The injuries were minor. It happened when they fell off the chair or slipped on the floor. Today stage performers are more vigilant, more careful and accidents are so rare that it is unheard of.

In all cases of clinical hypnotherapy, there has never been a case where the patient has been hurt or injured. These include when patients undergo hypno-anesthesia, hypno-birthing, pain management using hypnosis, hypno-surgery and so forth.

In fact, patients who chose to apply hypnotherapy in medical procedures report painless procedures, faster recovery and less bruising.
